I will be displaying the start of a project that began during my first year as a graduate student at the University of North Texas. I have been studying Pre-Columbian design, history, and culture, as well as post-conquest in Mexico history that created a new way of visual design. The style became known as "Tequitqui." The pieces displayed at Angela Faz Studio are carved earthenware clay fired once at cone 06 with slip, stains, and other post-fire surface treatments.
